Eating Seasonally

Why Eat Seasonally?

  1. Seasonal produce is harvested at its peak, ensuring the best taste and highest nutrient content.

  2. When fruits and vegetables are in abundance, they tend to be less expensive.

  3. Seasonal eating supports local farming and reduces the carbon footprint associated with transportation and storage.

Tips for Seasonal Eating

  • Visit Local Farmer’s Markets

  • Join a CSA (community-supported agriculture)

  • Preserve your (or the local farms’) harvest. Learn to can, freeze, or dry surplus produce to enjoy seasonal flavors year-round.
